Meet the Team
David Brown Head of Training and Development
What do you do at If U Care Share?
I'm the head of training and development. Day to day that means I take a lead on all of our adult training programmes working with a variety of different organisations to ensure our training is bespoke to their context and meets their identified needs. When not delivering training I support the wider charity with various development projects - often but not always including policy and procedure, I know how to have a good time!
Why did you join If U Care Share?
I joined If U Care Share through a pretty random chain of events, however more importantly the reason I've stayed (or gone and come back twice) is because of the passion the team have. I started volunteering for If U Care Share whilst at Uni and have then had a number of different roles. I work with amazing people who inspire on the daily. You can’t find more passionate, caring, empathic and experienced people, and I can see the difference we make, to individuals, and wider society, I don't think I would want to work anywhere else now.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I love America - not for the politics that's for sure. I'd love to spend time travelling across America.
The next time I go back I'm hoping to get a pair of genuine cowboy boots and also manage a visit to Dollywood.
What are some things that make you happy?
This is where it could almost sound like a dating profile - however one the things that makes me happiest is attending drag shows with my partner, or ice cream at the beach.
The dogs, Betsy and Dotty, the cat called Sylvia, and then the plethora of tropical fish, snails and shrimp bring me much joy. I also enjoy baking in my spare time.

What is your favourite biscuit and why?
It's got to be a milk chocolate oatie, more well known brands are available however I like nothing more than Aldi's own - pronounced ol dee in my world - no apologies.
Anything else you would like to share with the world?
"A man who can hug himself everyday truly has the arms of a gibbon." - The Catherine Tate Show.
